Following a petition from Riantec residents stating "it is always difficult and dangerous, sometimes impossible to dock in Gâvres," a two jetty construction project was approved. The work began on the West dock, followed by the East dock and were fully completed in 1870. It was in the late 19th century that the port facilities finally enabled boats to dock at any tide. A new port construction began in 1907, it included:the elevation of the East dockthe construction of a 47 meter mole in prolongation of the dockthe construction of a 41 meter long dock and a staircase leaning against the mole Recreational sailing took over the port of Gâvres in 2002 with the installation of a dock to accommodate the day-trippers and fishermen and a commercial dock for professional boats. The marina teamThe entire team at Ban-Gâvresl marina is pleased to welcome you either at he harbour master's office or on the pontoons.
